We are proud of the achievements of students and staff in all areas of the school including sport, academic, performing arts, community and charity work. This achievement was recognised by the OfSTED visit in September 2009 under the new inspection arrangements when it was recognised that the school no longer required special measures. As well as looking at the practices of the school this took in the great achievements made by students and staff that led to our best results for the school in the 2009 summer exams. Our improvements are ongoing as we continue to achieve our vision.
High educational achievement and a positive attitude to learning are keys to lifetime success. At TGSMAC we firmly believe that high achievement for each and every student is our shared responsibility. As a team, we aim to ensure that everyone in the school is able to achieve to her or his full potential, and we hope, to discover new skills and talents too. Students recognise this and want it for themselves as well. It is reflected in the new slogan they created in 2008 - "Do your best today for a better tomorrow".
At The Grays School Media Arts College we provide a caring and stimulating environment where students are happy and feel valued. We wish our students to develop confidence as well as being capable, self-directed learners and so plan for them to get involved with the school life, such as acting as a mentor to the younger students in their tutor group or by taking up a role in one of the school councils.
